PhotoPost Classifieds 3.0 is a major update with new features our users have requested as well any bug fixes to date. As always this is a work in progress but figured I would throw this out there for you all to test. I will be looking at the suggestions forum for other ideas so please limit posting in the beta forum to issues.

. Ability to specify an external image for a category avatar instead of tagging an ad.
. Subscription Capability using Paypal and IPN added. You can add/edit subscriptions and list subscribers all from admin. They are bumped into whatever new group you set the subscription to use and you can assign permissions accordingly
. Payment and Buy It portions moved to use the new payment verification system.
. Ability to set the a logo to use on the paypal cart
. Ability to specify your paypal email if you allow users to buy your ad on ad upload instead of having to set your user account email to the paypal account email.
. Ability to relist an ad and be prompted for payment if usergroup is set to have to pay.
. All tables changed to utf collation to assist in proper support for all foreign languages.
. Ability to set a number of free ads per group to override payment till that limit is reached.

What’s New ?

• Over all performance increased with less overhead on CPU and RAM.
• Gallery Link in Navbar (AdminCP option on/off)
• Time cutoff options for random and new image on gallery home.
• Active users online with option to list only gallery pages. This is on the gallery home page (link to forums WOL and AdminCP on/off)
• Image count in postbit (AdminCP on/off)
• Added total gallery statistics to FORUMHOME (AdminCP on/off)
• Expanded on gallery statistics to display uploads, comments, ecards per day with cutoff date
• Added gallery statistics link in “What’s Popular” dropdown menu.
• Image, comment count, and a link to uploaded gallery files in member profile.
• Querry Reduction: (4) Gallery Index, Browseimages, (2) Edit Image, Slideshow
• Added Tracking for slideshow views
• $vba_options => $ppg_options - This is a script wide variable change. All hacks will need to be updated. (file and template usage)

PhotoPost Developer Chuck S. has written a vBGallery to PhotoPost Pro import script. Please be sure to backup your gallery database before performing the import.

There is also a PhotoPost Pro to vBGallery import script available, written by developer Zachariah.

PhotoPost 6.0 has been released. It is packed full of some very cool features and is an excellent upgrade. Here are some of the new features and changes:

• Usergroup optimization resulting in significant reductions in memory usage for medium-large sites.

• Mature Content flag to “hide” mature images from unregistered users (or users who select to not see mature pictures)
• Buddy Lists
• Redesigned data area for showphoto, more AJAX/JavaScript features
• Slideshow Pause/Resume
• Use of icons versus text on showphoto page (famfam icons)

Effective 9/26/2007, the PhotoPost PHP Pro and PhotoPost vBGallery Licenses have been merged into one single license, but both products will continue to be available. What this means is that when you buy a PhotoPost license now, you can download either PhotoPost PHP Pro or PhotoPost vBGallery and choose which one to install on your site. The same licensing rules apply: only one install on one domain per license, you can’t have both running at the same time.

For those customers who bought PhotoPost PHP Pro before 9/26/2007, you will find that you can now see and download PhotoPost vBGallery from the members area. If there is enough demand, we will offer an import script to import your photos from Pro to vBGallery if anyone wants to switchover.

For those customers who bought PhotoPost vBGallery at $59 or $99 before 9/26/2007, we now offer an upgrade path to PhotoPost Pro. Simply Paypal us (email is orders at photopost.com) the difference in price between what you paid for vBGallery and the $129 cost of PhotoPost Pro, and we will issue you a Pro license which will let you download and install either Pro or vBGallery.

Note that if you own a vBGallery license and want to renew your members area access to download a new version of vBGallery, you can still do so.
